As the Founder & CEO of XYZ Reality, I often find myself reflecting on the journey that led me to where I am today. Many have asked what sparked the creation of XYZ, and while I can't pinpoint it to a single moment, perhaps it was the frustration of being asked to knock down a wall because it was placed incorrectly. Whatever the catalyst, I just became obsessed with the notion that there must be a better way to build, and how we as as an industry can build faster with paperless construction.

With over two decades of experience in the construction industry, my journey started as a digital construction manager, then as an architect, and later involved building data centers across Europe. Throughout my career, I witnessed first-hand the challenges of interpreting drawings onsite and the frustrations of dealing with errors and rework. It was this daily struggle that prompted me to question why we continued to rely on archaic processes when there must be a more efficient way to build.

The turning point came around 2014 when the idea of using augmented reality (AR) to revolutionize construction struck me. We experimented with various technologies, but none seemed precise or fool proof enough to address the industry's persistent issues. It became clear that for real change to happen, we needed a solution that offered unparalleled accuracy, and thus began our journey towards developing the Atom™, our engineering grade AR™ hardhat.

Now, in 2024, we've come a long way from the early prototype days. The Atom hardhat has evolved significantly, with advanced hardware and software seamlessly integrated. Despite the transformation, our commitment to precision remains unwavering because without accuracy, it's just another visualization tool.

One of the most gratifying moments of our journey was witnessing the impact of our technology on a hyperscale data center project in the US. Previously, the installation process required three workers to fit ten struts per day. But, with the introduction of the Atom, productivity has skyrocketed. Now, with just two workers, the contractor is installing up to fifty struts per day. That’s a powerful advocate for what we’re doing here at XYZ Reality.

What drove me to embark on this journey years ago continues to motivate me today – the desire to build better, faster, and more accurately. I'm immensely proud of how far we've come and the innovative ways teams are leveraging holograms and our technology to revolutionize on-site construction. Yet, I believe we're only scratching the surface of what we can achieve.

As we look towards the future, I'm excited about the endless possibilities that lie ahead. With our relentless pursuit of innovation and our unwavering commitment to excellence, I am confident that XYZ Reality will continue to lead the charge in transforming the construction industry for the better.
