Is it installed correctly? XYZ answers that before the trade moves on
TL;DR: This article argues that reactive construction documentation tools catch problems after the trade has moved on, turning fixes into rework instead of real-time correction. XYZ verifies at the point of install, before that happens. The proof: a same-developer, three-build case study showing $5.5M in rework avoided and 71,956 hours returned across all three builds. Project 3, where XYZ was adopted from day one, resolved 99.7% of issues before commissioning and delivered a three-week early handover worth up to $3.5M in additional revenue.
Every AI data center under construction right now is a half-billion-dollar bet on a schedule the industry has never had to hold before. On builds this fast and this complex, how quickly you catch a problem decides whether it's a correction or a schedule event.
The gap that costs the schedule
Post-hoc reality capture tools check work after the fact: a scheduled site walk, a 360 scan, a milestone review. Each of those depends on the same sequence. Something gets installed, then captured, then processed, then reviewed. Only after that review does anyone have trusted information to act on.
That sequence takes time, and the trade doesn't wait for it. By the time a scan is captured, processed, and reviewed, the crew has moved on to the next package. An underground utility or a fiber chamber can be backfilled within the same shift it went in. The review confirms it's wrong well after the point where fixing it was still cheap.
XYZ closes that gap at the point of install
XYZ's engineers carry the coordinated design model into the physical space at the moment the work happens, not on a delay. That closes the capture-process-review gap by removing it: the comparison against the model happens in the same moment as the installation.
At the element level, that comes down to two questions:
Is it installed?
Is it installed correctly?
Traditional progress tracking is largely built around the first question. The bigger exposure sits in the second: whether what was installed actually matches the coordinated design. Position is tracked to 3mm, about one sixteenth of an inch, measured against the coordinated design rather than estimated from a photo or a point cloud.
We operate as a fully managed service. XYZ supplies the engineers, the kit and the cadence, and prepares the models before anything reaches site. There is no headcount to hire and no adoption program to run.
Getting that answer early changes the outcome
Answering both questions at the point of install, instead of retrospectively, determines whether an issue gets prevented, corrected before the trade moves on, or becomes downstream rework. The earlier that answer is available, the more likely the issue can be corrected before subsequent work turns it into downstream rework
Proof: the same developer, three builds
XYZ worked with the same developer across three consecutive data center builds data center builds, moving earlier into each one.
Across the three builds, XYZ facilitated avoiding more than $5.5M in rework and returned 71,956 labor hours to productive installation. The earliest entry point, day one on the third build, delivered the facility three weeks ahead of schedule, worth up to $3.5M in additional revenue.
Every verified element rolls into the work package, the schedule activity and the milestone it affects, so the evidence that corrects a deviation in the field is the same evidence that tells a delivery lead which projects are still going to land on the date they committed to.
Post-hoc reality capture tells you what happened. XYZ verifies the work while there is still time to change what happens next.
